CX3CR1, also known as GPR13, is a 40 kDa G-protein-coupled receptor. It is expressed on T cells, NK cells, monocytes, resident and alternatively activated M2 macrophages and a subset of dendritic cells. It is also expressed by glial cells in the brain. CX3CR1 plays a major role in the survival of monocytes as well as in the adhesion and migration of leukocytes during inflammation.
