The 28-14-8 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse MHC class I, H-2Db, and cross-reacts with H-2Ld, H-2Dq, and/or H-2Lq. Binding of 28-14-8 to the alpha 3 domain of H-2Ld is not dependent on β2-microglobulin. MHC class I is expressed by all murine-nucleated cells and plays a central role in antigen presentation.
