CD16 (FcγRIII) and CD32 (FcγRII) are both low-affinity receptors for immunoglobulin of the gamma isotype. CD16 is a multichain receptor consisting of a membrane-anchored α chain that is associated with a γ-chain homodimer. CD32 is a transmembrane polypeptide encoded by a single gene. CD16 and CD32 are expressed on B cells, monocytes, macrophages, NK cells, granulocytes, mast cells, and dendritic cells, where they bind antibody-antigen immune complexes and mediate adaptive immune responses. The clone 93 reacts with an epitope shared by CD16 and CD32.
