CD325, also known as N-cadherin, consists of 5 extracellular domains, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic domain. It is involved in embryonic development, tissue architecture maintenance, cell sorting and cell adhesion in tissues, and promotion of motility. N-cadherin is expressed by stem cells, myeloblasts, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts and also is expressed in neural and muscle tissues and some types of carcinoma cells.
