An innovative integrated fluidic circuit (IFC) enables Polaris to actively select single cells from heterogeneous cell samples and hold them in individual, environmentally controlled reaction chambers. Once isolated, cells can be challenged with a variety of factors, including transcription factors, RNAs and small molecules, at the dosage or intervals you define. Then the cells are automatically lysed and RNA template is prepared for mRNA sequencing analysis. Polaris does it all in a single IFC and with minimal hands-on time, controlled by an elegant, intuitive touchscreen interface.

Prime the Polaris IFC with extracellular matrix and buffers to prepare it for sample transfer.


Pipet live cells in suspension and reagents into the IFC.


Insert the IFC into Polaris, which automatically images, selects and isolates individual cells according to your specifications.


Challenge selected cells with a variety of parameters and stain, if desired.


Lyse each cell to reverse transcribe and amplify within the IFC.


Collect the product from the harvest output for library prep and sequencing.
